The main US stock indexes advanced yesterday, with the Dow Jones up 0.6%

The main stock indexes closed yesterday's session with modest gains. The Dow Jones led the advance with a 0.6% rise, followed by the S&P 500, which added 0.2% to reach 7,446 points. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, closed virtually unchanged with a slight increase of 0.1%. Year-to-date gains for the Dow Jones, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq were thus at 4.6%, 8.8%, and 13.1%, respectively.
U.S. Treasury yields remained relatively unchanged yesterday. The 1-year Treasury note closed at 3.81%, up from 3.78% previously, while the 3-year Treasury note closed at 4.14%, also above the previous 4.12%. Meanwhile, the 10-year bond yield settled at 4.57%, slightly below the previous 4.59%.
Finally, yesterday Mexico released its final GDP (Gross Domestic Product) figures for the first quarter of 2026. The measurement showed a 0.6% decline in activity compared to the previous quarter, and a 0.2% increase year-on-year, which is better than the consensus forecast of -0.8% and +0.1%, respectively.
