Yields on US Treasury bonds rose yesterday, with the 10-year bond at 4.65%

The yield curve for US Treasury bonds shifted slightly upward yesterday. The 10-year Treasury note rose to 4.65% from 4.63%, the 3-year note climbed to 4.27% from 4.24%, and the 1-year note increased to 4.00% from 3.97%.

Meanwhile, the main US stock indexes closed with little change, in a session influenced by expectations surrounding Nvidia's earnings. The S&P 500 remained unchanged, the Nasdaq fell 0.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.2%. Year-to-date, the indexes have accumulated gains of 12.1%, 12.4%, and 11.2%, respectively.

After the market closed, Nvidia released its Q2 2027 results, reporting earnings per share (EPS) of $2.22, compared to the consensus estimate of $2.08, and revenue of $96.22 billion, exceeding the estimated $91.9 billion and more than doubling the year-over-year figure, driven by the Data Center segment (+117.0% year-over-year). CrowdStrike also reported, surpassing EPS and revenue estimates, raising its full-year guidance, and climbing approximately 11.7%. Salesforce reported EPS of $5.90, compared to the expected $3.27, and revenue of $11.3 billion, in line with forecasts.

Finally, commodities traded mostly lower yesterday. The price of WTI crude fell 0.6% to close at $81.90, while Brent crude declined 1.3% to $87.50. Gold, meanwhile, dropped 1.5% to $4,589.80 an ounce. In contrast, among grains, soybeans rose 1.8% to $459.40 a ton.
