U.S. Treasury yields rose across all maturities yesterday, particularly at the long end of the curve. Specifically, the 1-year bond yield climbed from 4.43% to 4.46% and the 3-year bond yield rose from 4.97% to 5.02%, while the benchmark 10-year bond yield reached 5.21%—up from the previous 5.12% and marking its highest level since 2006.
Meanwhile, major U.S. stock indices saw little movement during the session. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq remained flat, while the Dow Jones fell 0.3%. Year-to-date, these indices have posted gains of 12.5%, 15.9%, and 6.8%, respectively.
In Latin America, the Central Bank of Mexico held its monetary policy meeting and decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.5% per annum, in line with expectations and the stance adopted by most countries in the region. Against this backdrop, the exchange rate appreciated by 1.3% during the day.
