International

The U.S. Treasury yield curve continued its upward trend during yesterday's trading session. The 10-year bond yield rose to 4.99% from the previous 4.97%, the 3-year bond advanced to 4.75% from 4.72%, and the 1-year bond stood at 4.34%, up from 4.32%.

Meanwhile, major U.S. stock indices retreated yesterday. The S&P 500 fell 0.5%, the Nasdaq lost 0.6%, and the Dow Jones dropped 0.3%. Consequently, year-to-date gains for these indices stand at 11.3%, 12.7%, and 9.1%, respectively.

On the geopolitical front, the conflict between the United States and Iran continues without an active ceasefire. Commercial vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to just four ships yesterday—down from ten on Sunday—and crude oil flow settled at around two-thirds of previous levels. Brent crude briefly touched over $108 per barrel during the session before pulling back, following suggestions by the U.S. President that Iran might seek negotiations.

Regarding commodities, WTI crude rose 1.7% to close at $101.7 per barrel, while Brent gained 1.5% to reach $106.1. Gold fell 1.3% to $4,290.4 per ounce, whereas soybeans rose 0.4% to $472.2 per tonne.
