The main stock indexes started the week with slight changes

On Monday, the main US stock indexes remained largely unchanged throughout the day. The S&P 500 fell 0.2%, while the Nasdaq saw a similar decline of 0.3%, and the Dow Jones closed unchanged. Thus, so far in 2026, the indexes have accumulated gains of 3.9%, 5.0%, and 2.9%, respectively.
On the geopolitical front, the US president stated that he is unlikely to extend the two-week ceasefire, which ends this Wednesday afternoon. Therefore, the focus will be on potential progress in negotiations to end the war today and tomorrow.
Meanwhile, yields on US Treasury bonds mostly widened. The 1-year Treasury yield increased from 3.63% to 3.64%, while the 3-year yield rose from 3.72% to 3.74%. Finally, the yield on the 10-year bond remained unchanged at 4.25%.
