Major U.S. stock indices showed mixed performance during yesterday's trading session. The Dow Jones stood out with a 0.1% gain, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq recorded declines of 0.5% and 1.3%, respectively. With these results, year-to-date gains stand at 6.6%, 13.4%, and 17.0%, respectively.

Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury yields showed varied results across maturities yesterday. The 1-year bond yield remained steady at 4.41%, the 3-year bond ended at 4.88% (down from 4.91%), and the 10-year bond settled at 5.22% (compared to the previous close of 5.28%).

At the Istanbul Economic Forum, Federal Reserve (Fed) Governor Christopher Waller stated that further benchmark interest rate hikes would likely be necessary to achieve the long-term inflation target of 2%. Although he did not specify exact dates, he reaffirmed that the monetary authority remains flexible regarding the continued tightening of monetary policy in the coming months.
