US stock indices extended their gains, with the S&P 500 rising 0.6%

Major U.S. stock indices extended their gains during yesterday's trading session. This trend was led by the S&P 500 (+0.6%), followed by the Dow Jones (+0.5%) and the Nasdaq (+0.4%). Consequently, year-to-date gains stand at 14.2%, 7.2%, and 18.7%, respectively.

Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury yields saw slight declines across the curve yesterday. The 1-year bond yield held steady at 4.44%, the 3-year bond yield fell to 4.91% from 4.95%, and the 10-year bond yield closed at 5.28%, down from 5.30% on Monday.

In the United States, the August trade balance posted a deficit of $105.6 billion—a 13.7% monthly increase and the largest deficit recorded since March 2025. This result was driven by import growth (+4.3%) outpacing export growth (+1.4%); imports totaled $420.8 billion, while exports totaled $315.2 billion.
