Donald Trump and Xi Jinping will meet in China today.

Donald Trump arrived in Beijing this morning, where he plans to meet with the Chinese president tonight (10:15 PM Beijing time). This is the first time in nine years that a US president has visited China, and he is accompanied by leaders of major US companies, including Tim Cook (Apple), Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX), and Jensen Huang (Nvidia), among many others. According to Trump's social media posts, he will ask China to ease its trade restrictions on some US products, as well as discuss the potential stabilization of the conflict in the Middle East and artificial intelligence security, among other issues.

Major stock indexes closed with mixed results yesterday. The S&P 500 fell 0.2%, while the Nasdaq dropped 0.7%. The Dow Jones, on the other hand, rose 0.1%. Thus, so far this year, the indices have accumulated gains of 8.1%, 12.2%, and 3.5%, respectively.

Meanwhile, yields on US Treasury bonds widened on Tuesday. The 1-year bond closed at 3.78%, up from 3.76% on Monday, while the 3-year bond closed at 4.03%, also exceeding the previous 3.98%, and the 10-year bond rose from 4.41% to 4.46%.
