The U.S. Treasury yield curve continued to widen, with the 1-year bond at 4.5%

International

US Treasury yields rose across the curve during yesterday's trading session following the release of PCE inflation and economic activity data that exceeded estimates. Consequently, the 1-year bond yield rose to 4.54% from 4.44%, and the 3-year bond yield reached 5.0% compared to the previous 4.97%, while the 10-year bond yield ended at 5.30%—up from Tuesday's 5.24%—hitting a new high not seen since 2002.

Meanwhile, major US stock indices showed mixed results yesterday. The Nasdaq gained 0.2%, while the Dow Jones fell 0.9% and the S&P 500 declined 0.3%. With these performances, the indices have posted year-to-date gains of 15.6%, 5.9%, and 11.8%, respectively.

In the Eurozone, the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI)—a leading indicator of economic activity—came in at 52.9 points for September, according to S&P Global data, surpassing the 52.7 points forecast by the analyst consensus. It is worth noting that a reading above 50 points indicates expansion, while a figure below that threshold signals a contraction in activity.
